Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express Trial Run Completed
Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir—June 2025
Indian Railways has successfully completed the trial run of the Katra–Srinagar Vande Bharat Express.
a semi-high-speed train set to revolutionize travel in Jammu & Kashmir.
The new service will connect Katra, the base for the Vaishno Devi pilgrimage, with Srinagar, the heart
of the Kashmir Valley. The journey is expected to take approximately 3 hours, signi cantly reducing
travel time and enhancing comfort for passengers.
This initiative is a major boost to tourism and religious travel, opening smoother, faster access to two
of the region’s most important destinations.
Regular operations are expected to begin soon, offering modern amenities and high-speed
convenience to locals and tourists alike.
